The program does not go beyond the first page

Check if you have allowed IziSEO to access the Internet. Make sure you have added IziSEO to exceptions in your firewall.

The program says 'The contents of robots.txt disallow crawling this site.'

The robots.txt file belonging to this web site has directives that forbid crawling it. Either change the robots.txt file if you are the owner of the web site, or turn off the setting "Conform to robots.txt" in the Crawler Settings.

It takes too much time to crawl a web site

The time needed to crawl a web site depends on the size of its pages, the average connection time to the site's server (i.e. it'll take slower if you are in the US and the site is in Japan) and your settings. You may try turning off some traffic-consuming settings that are unimportant to you. These include:

  • Crawl subdomains
  • Check images (crawl SRC)
  • Load image content
  • Check CSS links
  • Check JS links
  • Check form action links
  • Check for duplicate content

I can't see any pages in the table, yet the site is being crawled

Check if you have selected a filter underneath the site URL. If the filter is on, it may be hiding pages that do not meet its criteria, so you may not see them.

I'm getting 'It appears you don't have a valid licence' when opening the program

Make sure you are running the software from the computer that you purchased your licence for. If you have recently changed the configuration of your computer, e.g. upgraded your motherboard, you will need to update your licence for free. Just contact the support.

When I'm opening the CSV file generated by IziSEO in MS Excel, I get one column instead of many

A CSV file stands for Comma-Separate Values, so it contains lines of text separated with commas. Usually MS Excel breaks a CSV file into columns automatically, but sometimes it fails due to regional settings on your computer. The most guaranteed way to open a CSV file is described in these steps:

MS Excel 2007 - 2012

1. Open Excel
2. Go to 'Data' tab
3. Select 'From Text' (third option from left) and select the .CSV file you want to import.
4. Click 'Next' on the pop-up window. Make sure you tick off 'Comma' selection in the next window. You should see your data applied into columns below already. You can add any other information if you need to here. Click 'Finish' when you're done with editing.

MS Excel 2003

1. Open Excel
2. Go to 'Data' tab
3. Select 'Import External Data' and then 'Import Data' from the drop down menu.
4. Select the .CSV file you want to import.
5. Click 'Next' on the pop-up window. Make sure you tick off 'Comma' selection in the next window. You should see your data applied into columns below already. You can add any other information if you need to here. Click 'Finish' when you're done with editing.
